Adrian Garcia Mendez (Her.Manos Photography)

As a first-generation Mexican American photographer, my work is deeply rooted in my cultural heritage and personal experiences. I am influenced by the vibrant and dynamic Chicano culture, as well as the religious traditions that have been passed down through generations. Being the son of immigrants has also shaped my perspective and inspired me to explore themes of identity, belonging, and the immigrant experience.

My photography is a blend of digital and analog techniques, allowing me to experiment with different styles and capture the essence of my subjects in unique ways. I am particularly drawn to lowriders, which are a symbol of Chicano pride and a testament to the creativity and ingenuity of the community. Through my lens, I aim to showcase the beauty and complexity of these iconic vehicles, as well as the people who build and drive them.

In addition to my lowrider photography, I also enjoy creating studio shoots that explore themes of identity and self-expression. Whether I am working with models or capturing candid moments on the street, my goal is to create images that are both visually striking and emotionally resonant. Through my art, I hope to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of my community and inspire others to embrace their own unique identities.
